OUTSIDE:
Pure white porcelain clay.
Glossy, Aqua Celadon glaze.
Flares out from the bottom upward.
There is a very fine texture of rings just under the outside rim. These subtle rings are accentuated with the aqua Celadon glaze.
Foot ring formed on the potter's wheel and sanded smooth with a diamond sanding disk.
INSIDE:
Just below the rim is a narrow band of dark glossy beige over a subtle texture of recessed bands. An even darker beige just below that band.
The next band of color consists of tiny speckles of glossy brown and cream.
That band melts into the concave, bottom portion of the bowl, which is a speckled yellow and pale blue-green.
The bottom swirl is small and contains more amber than the concave sides of the bowl, with a hint of creamy white on the elevated areas.
RIM:
Flared rim.
Glossy black glaze wrapping around the inside and outside.
Wheel thrown and hand glazed by Dennis.
Laguna 15 Porcelain Clay.
Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes.
Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
Handwashing is recommended.
Kiln fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit)Dennis's initials with happy face carved on the bottom.
What is a Celadon Glaze?
This Mophead Bud Vase is glazed with Amaco Celadon glazes.
AMACO Celadon glazes are glossy, transparent, and pool darker in recessed areas to accentuate textured and carved surfaces.
These Celadon glazes are lead-free and food safe.
Amaco Celadons fire to cone 5-6 (2160 degrees - 2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
