This Forget-Me-Not "Faux Weave" Balloon Bowl
Measures:

4" wide x 3-7/8" high

If you look at the very last uploaded photo for this bowl, you'll see how the bottom "faux weave" was formed on a - balloon! This is why these bowls are called balloon bowls. They are actually formed on a balloon.
They are completely hand-built and no two can ever be identical to each other.

OUTSIDE:
Thin strips of a light beige colored porcelain clay are arranged over the balloon in such a way to give the appearance of a weave.
The "weave appears on the outside and is slightly different on the inside.
This is the result of how the strips are placed on top of each other.
There is no glaze on the bottom portion of the bowl.
PLEASE NOTE - Because I didn't want to cover the beautiful weave design on the inside of the bowl - This bowl does NOT hold water.
I did attempt to fill the bowl with water, and the water ended up all over my counter.
If you'd like to put flowers in this balloon bowl, you can place a lightweight cup inside (plastic perhaps). Something less than approximately 3-1/4" wide and less than 3" tall if you don't want to see the top of the plastic container to hold the water.
Artificial flowers would definitely work.
The band on top of the weave consists of many small Forget-Me-Not flowers, which are sculpted out of colored porcelain clay with tiny yellow centers.
Above the Forget-Me-Not flowers is a striped textured support band.
I used this decorative means to support the flowers on the top of the bowl, and to keep them contained. This top section is glazed with a glossy, clear, lead free glaze.
The vase stands up aided by 4 little feet on the bottom.

The bottom portion of this balloon bowl is sprayed with a product called Liquid Quartz.
Liquid Quartz™ (affectionately referred to as LQ for short) is a food safe, permeating sealer designed for use on unglazed ceramic ware, rendering it waterproof, stain resistant, & yet completely unchanged in appearance.
You can read more about Liquid Quartz here.

INSIDE:
The inside is the reverse "faux weave" of what's on the outside.
It's quite interesting how the weave looks different from the inside.
The overlapping process is more visible from inside.
The top portion is the backside of the flowers, and is also glazed with clear, glossy, lead free glaze.

RIM:
Glossy cornflower blue.

Wheel-thrown Standard 365 Porcelain.
Fired to Cone 6 (2232ºFahrenheit).
Hand washing this bowl is advised because of the intricate design.
My signature engraved on the bottom.

All of our pottery is wheel-thrown and/or handbuilt in our North Carolina home studio.
