This Wide Rimmed Hand Engraved Pink Celadon Bowl with Engraved Quarter Roses Measures:
6-1/2" wide x 2-3/4" high.
Holds approximately 2 cups of liquid (16 ounces)
OUTSIDE:
Light pink, glossy Celadon glazed quarter roses.
Six (6) panels of engraved quarter roses with bas relief carved leaves.
Every panel of roses and leaves was hand drawn and engraved with a small ball tool.
The 1/2" striped band just above the footring was taped with a narrow tape, and glazed alternately pink and gray. The tape was removed before kiln firing to Cone 6. (2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
Foot ring formed on the potter's wheel and sanded smooth with a diamond sanding disk.
INSIDE:
The inside is a glossy very pale yellow green, with subtle textured bands descending from approximately 1/2" down from the curved rim.
Inside swirl on the very bottom is clearly visible through the glossy glaze.
RIM:
Rim extends approximately 5/8" from the bowl.
Glossy gray edge band wraps around the rim to the underside.
Geometric design created using very narrow tape, and glazed with a satin dark brown glaze. Tape was removed before glaze firing. (Cone 6 - 2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
Rim curves down into the sides of the bowl.
Laguna 15 porcelain clay.
Glazed with lead-free, dinnerware safe glazes.
Fired to Cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
Because of the delicate design, it is best to hand wash this bowl.
My signature engraved on the bottom of the bowl.
All of our pottery is wheel-thrown and/or handbuilt in our North Carolina home studio.
