Dennis's Handmade Light Aqua Green with Aqua Green Vertical Bands
Measures:
5" wide x 1-5/8" high
Holds approximately 2/3 cup of liquid (5.33 ounces)
This bowl is part of our Celadon Glaze Series.
(Scroll down to see Celadon definition below).
Condiment bowl, spice or herb holder, appetizer or sauce bowl.
Ice cream or fruit bowl.
Trinket or catch all bowl.
Not sure I'd use this as a prep bowl; it's just too sumptuous.
OUTSIDE:
Pure white porcelain clay.
Aqua green Celadon glaze with slightly darker aqua vertical lines around the entire circumference of the bowl. The transparent Celadon glaze accentuates the vertical lines, as it pools darker in recessed areas.
The footring is slightly indented from the side of the bowl.
Foot ring formed on the potter's wheel and sanded smooth with a diamond sanding disk.
INSIDE:
Just below the rim is a 1/2" band of glossy light aqua green.
In the center of this 1/2" band are two narrow textural bands of glossy light aqua green.
Just below the light aqua green is a narrow band of speckled light purple (Smokey Merlot), fading into tiny pale peach speckles and flecks, and this fades into creamy white descending towards the inside bottom small swirl.
Swirl is subtly visible with accent rings of Smokey Merlot.
The inside of this bowl is very smooth with a hint of texture at the bottom swirl.
RIM:
Glossy, black wrapping around from the inside to the outside.
Wheel thrown and hand glazed by Dennis.
Laguna 15 porcelain clay.
Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes.
Handwashing is recommended.
Kiln fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit)
Dennis's initials and happy face engraved on the bottom.
What is a Celadon Glaze?
This Mophead Bud Vase is glazed with Amaco Celadon glazes.
AMACO Celadon glazes are glossy, transparent, and pool darker in recessed areas to accentuate textured and carved surfaces.
These Celadon glazes are lead-free and food safe.
Amaco Celadons fire to cone 5-6 (2160 degrees - 2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
All of our pottery is wheel-thrown and/or handbuilt in our North Carolina home studio.
