This Small Wheel-thrown Ceramic Porcelain Condiment Bowl with Glazed Striped Peony Design Measures:

4" wide x 2-1/8" high.

Condiment bowl, dipping bowl, prep bowl, small fruit bowl.
Wheel-thrown light coral / pink colored porcelain.

OUTSIDE:
This bowl is a soft, satin matte - NOT Glossy.
Texture is slightly rough to the touch.
Peony flowers and leaves were drawn onto the bisqueware (the first kiln firing is called the bisque firing), then outlined with rubber latex.
This gave me the ability to "stay in the lines" - so to speak when glazing the petals, pollen, leaves and background.
After glaze colors were applied, the rubber latex was peeled off, as if pulling off a rubber band.
The bottom of this bowl, directly above the footring, small checkered design created using very narrow tape, and glazed alternating pale green and white.
The tape was removed before glaze firing. (Cone 6 - 2232 degrees Fahrenheit).

INSIDE:
The inside is glossy, and soft - as opposed to the satin matte, slightly rough exterior.
Where the white gloss glaze overlaps the dark brown rim, creates a dripping effect of softer umber and beige.
Below this effect - tiny flecks of pink and cream melting towards the bottom.
Inside swirl on the very bottom consists of multiple narrow bands of glossy, pink and white.

RIM:
A very dark, satin, matte brown.
Rim wraps around the inside to the outside, approximately 1/4" on both sides.

Standard 365 Porcelain Clay, we color ourselves.
Glazed with lead-free, dinnerware safe glazes.
Fired to Cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
Dishwasher, microwave safe
Because of the design, it is best to hand wash this bowl.

All of our handmade pottery is crafted in our North Carolina home studio.
