A Wheel-thrown Blue Swirled Appetizer Plate

Dennis's Handmade Lagoon Blue Celadon Wheel-thrown Plate with Dark Blue Rim Band Measures:
5-15/16" wide x 3/8" high 

Appetizer, dessert or muffin plate.
Can accommodate jewelry, coins, candy.

Customers usually find uses for our decorative plates, that I would not have thought of.

This plate is part of our Celadon glaze series.

OUTSIDE & BOTTOM:
Sio-2 Lagoon Turquoise Blue Porcelain Clay.
A narrow band of Lagoon blue Celadon glaze just above the footring. Approximately 3/8" wide. (Please see "RIM") to complete outside description.
Footring formed on the potter's wheel, and ground smooth using a diamond sanding disk.

TOP:
Band closest to the rim is very dark blue and melts in to a slightly lighter dark blue.
Next towards the inside, pale lavender tiny flecks and speckles.
Moving towards the center of the plate is the Lagoon blue Celadon glaze, which accentuates the swirl pattern in the center of the plate.
The outer narrow band on the swirl is flecked and speckled pale lavender.
The center swirl is clearly visible under the Celadon glaze.
Under the Celadon glaze Dennis has hand-drawn narrow lines suggesting rays  towards the center swirl.

RIM:
Dark, glossy black with a hint of dark blue (Blue Midnight glaze).

Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes
Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe, although hand washing is recommended.
Kiln fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit)
Dennis's initials with happy face carved on the bottom.
