This Colored Porcelain Nerikomi Inlay on a Wheel-thrown Bud Vase Measures:

Boho vase consists of many nerikomi inlay pieces pressed into a wheel-thrown bud vase. Nerikomi utilizes colored porcelain clay, which we color ourselves. The color is embedded into the clay, and not just on the surface, as with glazed pottery.
What is Nerikomi? Nerikomi is a hand building technique piecing together different sections of colored porcelain design, and either forming a slab built vessel or a press molded vessel. This Nerikomi inlay technique is the same process of piecing different colored porcelain sections together, only the pieces are pressed into another piece of clay, such as this wheel-thrown vase. Nerikomi is perhaps the most difficult colored porcelain clay technique, in my opinion.
