Handmade Bud Vase with Agateware Seashells and Hanging Fish Charm. Ceramic Pottery.

Dennis's Wheel-thrown Bud Vase with Agateware Seashells Fish Charm Measures:

 2-1/4" wide x 3-3/4" high.

Dennis continues his agateware seashell ornamentation with this lovely bud vase.
He likes to add charms if it's fitting, so we added a half round coil near the top of the vase, attached a gold jump ring, and hooked our press molded - by Dennis - fish. 

OUTSIDE:
A very pale titanium yellow colored porcelain with just a hint of blue swirled into the bottom quarter of the vase. The light color gives attention to the seashells on the outside. 
Dennis creates his own agateware seashells by combining two colors of colored porcelain and twisting them together. This marbles the clay. The marbled clay is pressed into a resin seashell mold.
These seashells are attached to the vase while still in its greenware (raw) state, using wet clay (slip) the same color as the vase.
Everything gets fired in the kiln to Cone 04.
After this initial bisque firing - lead free, food safe, gloss clear is applied to the outside, as well as the layered glazes to the inside, and into the kiln for the second firing to Cone 6 (2232ºF.)
The seashells are not hot glued on, they are fired in the kiln with the vase 

INSIDE:
The inside of this vase consists of Mayco, Light Flux layered with Opulence Sea Spray - nice and drippy inside. We try to keep the drips inside the pots when there is a lot of design on the outside of the pottery.
The inside is a glossy, light bluish green.

Wheel thrown and hand glazed by Dennis.
Colored Standard 365 Porcelain Clay.
Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes.
Please wash by hand because of the attached fish charm and metal jump ring.
Kiln fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit)
