Measures: 4-1/4" wide x 3/8" high.
Spoon notch measures 1" wide

OUTSIDE:
Lavender colored porcelain clay, that we color ourselves.
Sides are slightly raised.
Dark Smokey Merlot colored glaze 3/16" down from the rim.

INSIDE:
A constellation of speckles - light blue, dark purple and creamy white glaze, with rings of purple clay visible through the blue glaze.

RIM:
Dark, glossy reddish purple glaze.

Wheel thrown and hand glazed by Dennis.
Colored Standard 365 Porcelain Clay.
Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes.
Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
Kiln fired to cone 6 >

How it’s Made

Dennis's handmade spoon rest is wheel-thrown with lavender colored porcelain, which we hand color ourselves.
It is then wheel-thrown on the potter's wheel, and the spoon notch is formed.
When clay has sufficiently dried to leather hard stage, the footring on the bottom is carved.
Initial bisque fire to 1945ºF.
The glaze is applied, and the spoon rest is fired again to 2232ºF.

Layering glazes creates the beautiful speckled effect Dennis achieved.
