This small bud vase is a clear example of the neriage technique.

Blue and aqua colored porcelain clays were wheel-thrown on the potter's wheel.
As the sides of the vase were pulled up, while the wheel was spinning, the two colors merged, resulting in a marbled effect.
The defined colors are seen from the inside, as well as the outside.

Two carved narrow bands of rings near the bottom foot ring.

Food Safe and Lead Free glossy, clear glaze over the colored porcelain clay.
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
Laguna 16 Porcelain Clay.
Fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit).
Dennis's initials and happy face engraved on bottom.

How it’s Made

Dennis's handmade small bud vase was created using 2 colors (Vivid Blue and Aqua) of hand-colored porcelain clay that has been spun on the potter's wheel to obtain a swirled effect throughout the vase.
The color is embedded into the clay.
