Dennis's Handmade Orange and Speckled White Candle Plate

Measures: 4-3/4“ wide x 1" high

Use to hold votive candles or short pillar candles.
Can also accommodate jewelry, coins, candy or perhaps to serve a couple bonbons.
Tea bag holder.

This candle plate was created on the potter's wheel using two of our hand colored warm white colored porcelain clays.

OUTSIDE:
The agateware technique of combining two different colored porcelain clays is very subtle.
A warm white, and a very pale titanium yellow.
The marbling effect is visible on the bottom only.
Sides of this candle plate are pale orange with tiny flecks near the rim.

INSIDE:
Cool white tones swirled with warm pale apricots.
Lots of tiny speckles and flecks.
A hint of concentric circular pattern with these glaze colors.

RIM:
Soft, glossy orange with tiny speckles.

Wheel thrown and hand glazed by Dennis.
Colored Standard 365 Porcelain Clay.
Glazed with dinnerware safe, lead free glazes.
Dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
Kiln fired to cone 6 (2232 degrees Fahrenheit)
Dennis's initials with happy face carved on the bottom.

How it’s Made

This candle plate is made with colored porcelain that we color ourselves, and then wheel-thrown on the potter's wheel by Dennis.
Hand glazed by Dennis.

We use commercial glazes that are labeled dinnerware safe, and/or food safe / lead free, and a Cone 6 porcelain pottery clay that vitrifies (becomes glasslike) at cone 6.
